Special Olympics Minnesota Polar Plunge

Bringing cause to life in the real world through digital activation

Special Olympics Minnesota hosts the Polar Plunge, a series of fundraising efforts to support athletic, health and leadership programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Creed partnered with Special Olympics Minnesota to stabilize their existing website and then rebuild it to further support their fundraising and program goals.

As a continuing partner, over the years Creed has worked on improving site usability, performed two full site style refreshes, implemented a WooCommerce storefront into the WordPress site to sell Polar Plunge merchandise, as well as performed numerous code and database server upgrades.

In recent seasons, we have focused on spec’ing out and building various custom mechanisms to incentivize Polar Plungers to participate year-over-year and compete against each other in new ways to further drive fundraising efforts. We’ve also added scheduling features to improve the logistics for participants at Polar Plunge events and 5K races around the state
