Advanced Data Algorithms A Part Of This Nutritious Breakfast

Description:
Over the course of two years Twin Cities-based Creed Interactive and the California based consultants Frank N. Magid have collaborated on a trend tracking application that has been become a fundamental tool for Magid's consulting group.
Problem:
To stay competative media outlets need to know which stories people are actually reading and how those stories rise and fall in popularity.
Solution:
The tool combines "web scraping" with a powerful analytic tool that ranks and weights the information appropriately to generate a data stream that is easy to interpret and act on. The tool currently reads and ranks an article every half second and plots the data in hierarchical graphs. This gives Magid an unprecedented edge in providing the most accurate trending forecass for their clients. Rob Yarin from Magid says, "Once we saw the potential of the tool that Creed helped us develop, we knew we had a winner. In fact we contacted our patent attorneys right away." The success of the tool has caught the attention of others and in June, MSNBC's David Gregory of Meet the Press began running a segment on Sunday mornings highlighting the political trends that the tool is deciphering. Called the "MTP Political Trend Tracker" a viewer can easily track and gauge the political stories that are on the rise and those that are fading from headlines. MSNBC has been so impressed with the web application that they have started using it for the show USA Today as well. Creed Interactive and Magid are continually refining the tool and adding features, ensuring that the application evolves to meet the diverse needs of Magid's clientele.
Features:
A patent-pending algorithm that indexes information from all across the web. Trending reports, alerts, administrative override features and multiple content feeds for different industries and locations.
Services:
Project Management, Information Architecture, Strategy, Design, and Development.
